Have you suffered a cybersecurity incident? how to report it voluntarily?
If you have experienced or identified a cybersecurity incident, either as an individual or in an organization, you can report it to our Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT).
STEP 1
You should try to UNDERSTAND as much as possible what happened, as well as the potential impact on you or third parties. If you consider the incident to be relevant enough for you or third parties, you should report it to Cyberprotech.
For example:
Has your data been encrypted and you are being asked to pay a ransom to decrypt it – ransomware?
Have you received a phishing email (or SMS) or an extortion attempt?
Have you discovered a fraudulent website that seeks to capture information from potential victims or carry out scams?
Have you been the victim of a scam on a digital platform
Has someone taken over your email?
Has your website become unavailable for no apparent functional reason or does it display a different image from the original?
Has any other digital service you provide become unavailable due to an attack?
Has there been an intrusion into your system and the theft of sensitive data?
STEP 2
You can REPORT the incident to Cyberprotech using the following means:
To inform our team in the best possible way, you should try to describe the incident with some information, such as a description of what happened, the start date, the systems and/or people affected, as well as the files and/or URLs compromised.
You must REPORT the incident to CERT.PT using one of the following methods:
You must FOLLOW THE RECOMMENDATIONS indicated by Cyberprotech professionals. For example, deleting a fraudulent email, changing the password of a compromised account, performing system updates, among other possible actions aimed at the type of cybersecurity incident in question.
NOTE 1:
This communication does not replace communication to the judicial authority or to the competent criminal police body when the incidents constitute a criminal offence whose criminal proceedings depend on a complaint or private prosecution.
The form indicated on the CNCS website and the CERT.PT email allow reporting of incidents under Article 13 of Law No. 46/2018, of August 13, which establishes the Legal Framework for Cyberspace Security, namely in accordance with the technical instruction set out in Regulation No. 183/2022, of February 21, regarding communications between entities and the CNCS.
Notification of an incident in an Individual environment
If you have personally experienced a cybersecurity incident, such as phishing, malware, unauthorized access, or data breach, use this form to report it. Provide as many details as possible to help us understand and address the issue effectively. You can also upload relevant files as evidence of the incident.
Notification of an incident in an Organization environment
If you are reporting an incident on behalf of an organization, please use this form. It allows for more comprehensive reporting, including details of the organization, contact information of the responsible person, type of incident, detailed description, and impact assessment. This form also supports internal notes and attachments to facilitate internal communication and follow-up actions.
